Pohela Boishakh Faculty of Pharmacy

Bengali New Year or Pohela Boishakh is the first day of the Bengali calendar, celebrated each year in Bangladesh. It is the most widely celebrated and colorful national festival of our country which reflects our culture in rural Bengal. The rich heritage of our culture is manifested in music, dance, drama, art, craft and celebration. It connects all ethnic Bengalis irrespective of religious and regional differences. As another year passes by, we are awaiting to celebrate the Pahela Boishakh 1419. As abided by the tradition, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka is going to welcome the Bengali New Year 1419 on 14th April and arrange a ceremony at Pharmacy Lecture Theater (PLT) starting from 9 AM sharp to celebrate the Pohela Boishakh. The celebration will be inaugurated by the honorable Dean (Acting) of Pharmacy Faculty, Professor A. B. M. Faroque.
